With a range of  information around Covid-19 and support services we have created the Covid-19 Business Support Page for our business community to access a central location. 

This page includes a list of information for businesses, including the different forms of support, tools and resources available during this time. Please find attached a helpful summary guide of business assistance from the Victorian Government.  As the situation and advice continues to change, we ask all businesses to continue to monitor State and Federal Government announcements.

AusIndustry Update

The AusIndustry National Contact Centre has been getting numerous enquiries about what constitutes an Essential Service. Currently there is NO national definition. Rather, here is the list of industries that are designated Non-Essential services.

Businesses that are remaining open must do so adhering to social distancing requirements.

Diversify to meet Covid-19 needs

Can your business diversify to meet the needs of the current Covid-19 situation? Please see the Australian Government's Department of Industry Response to Covid-19, and see related news items to see the current opportunities.

Federal Governments Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020

The Federal Government has released the guidelines for the Energy Efficient Communities Program - Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants 2020.This will assist businesses and community organisations to improve energy efficiency practices and technologies and to better manage energy consumption to reduce their power bills through:

  • energy generation and storage systems
  • equipment upgrades that reduce energy consumption
  • energy audits
  • There is an estimated $3.8 million available and the grant amount will be up to 100% of eligible project costs, with a minimum grant amount of $1,000 and maximum $12,500. 

There will be a maximum of two projects funded per electorate with the first two eligible projects per electorate funded. Before applying, applicants should check Business Gov to see if we have already received enough applications from the applicant’s electorate. 

The program closes on 18 May 2020, and all details including eligibility requirements can be found at Business Gov. 

One Hour Out – Online Market Place

One Hour Out, is offering businesses the opportunity to be involved in its online country market. This allows people to visit the market from the comfort of their own home, while also supporting regional communities. It is also a way for local businesses to get involved and increase distribution in the current climate. To find out more please see the FAQ page and application here.
