Restrictions relaxed for regional Victoria

Regional Victoria has had a number of COVID restrictions relaxed which will support hospitality businesses:

Restaurants and cafes can have up to 70 people outdoors and up to 10 people per indoor space with a maximum of 40 people per venue indoors. The two and four square metre rules apply. Indoor spaces must be separated by permanent structures (should reach floor to ceiling or be at least 2.1 metres high) or be a discrete area of the premises.

We ask local businesses who wish to take advantage of outdoor dining on Council land to please contact us. There may be a number of health, liquor and land management requirements that we will need to assist through our Local Laws. Please complete this form  and submit to and we will process as quickly as possible.

Businesses must continue to ensure people from metropolitan Melbourne do not eat-in. This can be done by checking ID such as driver licences.

In general, postcodes in Melbourne range from 3000 to 3207. However, there are outlying areas that are considered to be part of metro Melbourne whose postcodes do not fit into this range.  These include Whittlesea, Hume, Melton, Wyndham, Mornington Penninsula, Cardinia, Casey and Yarra Ranges. For more information go to the Hospitality COVIDSafe reopening section of Council's COVID-19 Business Support page.

Please ensure your business has its own checking process in place.
