Business Hardship Recovery Fund
Mitchell Shire businesses are encouraged to see if they are eligible for funding under the Business Hardship Recovery Fund.
There have been a number of businesses who have successfully applied for the $5000 grant. This is open to all businesses which have fallen into hardship and could not access one or more of the COVID-19 based business support packages presented by either State or Federal governments.
Applications have been extended until Friday 6 November, 2020.
With the support of the Victorian Government, Council has secured $1 million to assist businesses which have suffered reduced revenue and/or temporary closure as a result of the first stage of Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire COVID-19 restrictions between 8 July and 5 August 2020.
Council is currently administering the scheme and details around eligibility. Complete an application.
It is also a reminder for businesses to access our specialist advice service.
The service can be delivered online or by phone with specialist staff providing advice on:
- Accountancy and tax – particularly to help businesses to access government assistance and other accounting matters that arise as a result of COVID-19
- Business strategy – to help businesses respond to the impacts of COVID-19 and into recovery
- Human relations – to advise on employee rights, remuneration, legal entitlements and obligations.
Eligible businesses can access a free 60-minute session with extra sessions available until January 2021. Businesses can request advice in more than one area. Session availability may be limited due to high demand.
To access the Business Advice Service, fill in the request form.
