Outdoor Dining Permit Applications

Outdoor Dining Applications for Cafes, Restaurants and Hotels

Are you a café, restaurant or hotel looking to create an outdoor dining experience as part of your plans for COVID-19 recovery?

Mitchell Shire Council is encouraging all businesses that currently do not have an existing Local Law permit for outdoor dining chairs and tables on Council land to apply as soon as possible.

Approvals will be processed quickly to assist businesses to capitalise upon extra dining space.
Please note: any business requiring outdoor liquor consumption beyond their 'redline', will be required to apply through VCGLR (Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation) and granted approval before Mitchell Shire Council can grant permission for this activity, as it requires planning approval.

To apply for a permit please complete this form and submit to the Local Laws department via email mitchell@mitchellshire.vic.gov.au

We are also encouraging businesses to talk with our Business Advice Specialists to discuss possible outdoor dining locations near their businesses. This could be a public space, carparks or walkways. While we cannot guarantee this space, we are keen to hear about localities. To discuss this please call Customer Service on 5734 6260 and ask for the Business Advice team.
